Fu Shing Liu
June 26, 1930 – May 7, 2013
Fu Shing Liu, 83, of Gastonia, NC, passed away peacefully near his home on May 7, 2013. He was born on June 26, 1930 and lived in Gastonia, NC, for 34 years. Fu Shing was skilled and successful restaurateur, operating the landmark Hong Kong Lobsteer Inn Chinese and American fine dining restaurant in Gastonia in the mid-eighties and late nineties. He has touched many lives and is remembered well by his friends for his kindheartedness and generosity.
Although he struggled with illness during his later life, he was always optimistic about getting well soon because he wanted to see his all grandchildren graduate from college. Fu Shing is survived by his loving wife Mary Lee Liu; his five children: Patsy, Philip, Mary, John, and Sally; and his thirteen grandchildren: Stephanie Lowe, Daniel Chung, Jennifer Liu, Rachael Chung, Kevin Liu, Amelia Chung, Ken Cheng, Michelle Cheng, Yeeva Cheng, Ethan Liu, Alex Forrest, Stephen Forrest, and Justin Liu; and his great grandchild: Amina Lowe.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Gastonia at 10:30 am, followed by a private cremation ceremony at Greene Funeral Home in Gastonia at 2:00 pm.
